FAQ
What should I bring?
You will need warm layers for the night. I recommend wool. The average nighttime temperature in summer is around 12°C (54°F), but it can vary depending on weather conditions and location in the forest. Wear hiking shoes or sneakers. Bring your preferred drinks. I recommend at least 1.5 liters of water, plus anything else you’d like. There are no shops in the forest, so make sure to bring more than you think you’ll need. There is a store near the meeting point where you can buy supplies before we start.
What is the wildlife like?
The forest is home to moose, deer, badgers, martens, squirrels, hares, and birds. Most animals are shy and avoid humans, but we might spot tracks or hear the sounds of wildlife at night.
Is this suitable for children?
This adventure is suited for adults and older children (12+ years) who are comfortable hiking and sleeping outdoors.
What is the campsite like?
We camp in a secluded forest spot, away from crowds and artificial lights. We might come across a few people in the forest, but this is rare. This is not a typical camping area with many visitors—it’s a peaceful and secluded spot, perfect for a quiet and harmonious nature experience. We’ll decide together whether to camp by the lake, where we can swim and have a campfire, or at the top of a tower with stunning views over the forest and fjord. Unfortunately, there’s a fire ban in the forest where there’s no lake, so if we choose the tower, swimming and having a fire won’t be possible. Both options have their own charm, and it’s hard to pick a favorite!
Is this hike suitable for beginners?
Yes! This is a beginner-friendly hike, but you should be comfortable walking on forest trails with uneven terrain. We take plenty of breaks and move at a relaxed pace.
What happens if it rains?
If it rains, we have a tarp that will keep us dry under the hammock. Alternatively, you can cancel and receive a full refund. Cancellations must be made at least 8 hours in advance to qualify for a full refund.
What’s included?

How do I get to the meeting point?
We meet at Kolbotn train station just 20 minutes from Oslo Central Station.
The train is called "L2 Ski". The meeting point is easy to find, and I will be there to greet you.
Where can I leave luggage I don’t want to bring on the hike?
You can store your luggage at Oslo Central Station or contact me if you need help.
Is there a toilet?
There are no toilets in the forest, but there is one at the meeting point (closed on Sundays). In nature, we follow Leave No Trace principles, and I’ll guide you on how to do so respectfully.
What if I need to cancel?
You can cancel free of charge up to 74 hours before. If bad weather forces us to cancel, you’ll get a full refund or the option to reschedule.
What other activites can we do to make the tour even more spescial?
Besides hiking, relaxing, and enjoying meals, we can swim in the lake, read a book, share stories by the campfire, practice guided meditation and yoga, or cook together for a truly immersive nature experience.
