6 km scenic forest trail only 20 minutes from Oslo
Breathtaking views & pure nature and peace - No crowds
Join a unique and authentic nature experience just outside Oslo! As your local guide, I’ll take you off the beaten path to explore hidden trails and peaceful spots in my own local forest. Together with my friendly dog, we’ll hike through beautiful Norwegian nature, reaching a stunning viewpoint before descending to a serene lake. Our adventure begins with a short 5-minute walk from the train station to the forest’s edge. From there, we start uphill to a scenic viewpoint at 153 meters above sea level. After enjoying the breathtaking views, we descend to a quiet lake for a peaceful break. Following the break, we continue uphill again before exiting the forest near another train station, where you’ll catch a direct ride back to Oslo. This loop trail offers a variety of landscapes and a glimpse into local life just outside the city.

This is an easy hike by Norwegian standards but includes some uneven terrain and a few hills. It’s 6 km (3.7 miles) long, with an elevation gain of 153 meters (502 ft). If you are comfortable walking for a couple of hours, you should be fine. We take breaks along the way.

Other: Bring a bottle of water. Swim suit & towel if you would like to swim in the lake.

There are no toilets along the trail, but there is one toalet at the meeting point (closed on Sundays).
What wildlife might we see?
The forest is home to deer, moose, badgers, martens, squirrels, hares, snakes, butterflies, and birds. Wildlife is usually shy and avoids humans, so encounters are rare but possible.

Nero is a friendly happy-go-lucky dog, but please let me know in advance. If you have severe allergies or a strong fear of dogs, this may not be the best tour for you.

I had the opportunity to join Ingunn for a hike in Oslo's beautiful outdoors. The location was easily accessible, and it was truly refreshing to be surrounded by nature just minutes away from the city center. Ingunn herself was a lovely and kind-hearted host, sharing a bit of her personal life and journey with me. Her dedication in her career speaks volumes about her character, and it's evident that this hike is her own way of connecting with nature and sharing it with others.

Highlight of our Oslo trip. Traveling with my sons we wanted something fun authentic and to (at least for few hours) connect with nature. Ingunn and Nero were amazing hosts, the hike was beautiful, fun, we were able to talk, meet new friends and get sone great photos and memories together. Communication fast efficient, highly recommend. Lots of smiles and laughs .
